Great Slave lake, Northwest Territories, Canada photo
Great Slave lake, Northwest Territories

Great Slave Lake is the tenth largest and one of the deepest lakes in the world.

From its westerly end, source of the Mackenzie River to the eastern end at Fort Reliance, it stretches 480 kilometres, and covers an area more than five times the size of Prince Edward Island.

Lutselk'e is located on the south east shore, accessible by air from Yellowknife. This is prime fishing country.
