Mkambati falls, Mkambati river, Mkambati game reserve, Transkei, Eastern Cape Province The scenic Mkambati Nature Reserve, an 8000 hectare coastal reserve, is one of the highlights of a trip to the Wild Coast. The beautiful Mkambati river, with its crystal clear pools and series of waterfalls, zigzags across the effortlessly large areas of grassland that support a range of animals and plants. The Horseshoe Falls are most impressive as they drop down over a terrace in a wide arc, the stream then tumbling over another waterfall before dropping several metres into the ocean.
